David is Welsh. Language, music and poetry are in his blood. As a classically trained actor, he appeared on stage, in film, and on television as a guest star. He acted in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Berkeley Rep, and the Tennessee Williams Center.
David leveraged his performance skills as a corporate spokesman and represented Siemens, Cisco, Chevron and others worldwide. He narrated over two hundred training films and coached his business colleagues and clients on how to better present.
David’s background allows him to understand the challenges his clients face, and deliver the skills they need to get ahead. David’s coaching is derived from the professional’s playbook, including executive presence, audience engagement, and managing anxiety. David has delivered hundreds of PowerPoint presentations, so he understands what his clients need to step out in front of their slides and own their narrative.
With partner Deborah Shames, David co-authored Own the Room, a business best-seller. Their clients include scientists, business leaders, Olympic athletes, and executives from many fields. A lifelong athlete and performer, David combines the rigor of athletic discipline with the expressiveness of the arts. His greatest joy is the outdoors; traveling, skiing, hiking, swimming, or sailing in this wonderful planet.
