DOUG RIDLEY

Doug Ridley is a criminal defense attorney and former Ventura County Deputy District Attorney.

A graduate of Pepperdine Law School in 1998, Doug worked for the Ventura County District Attorney from 1999 through 2004, reviewing thousands of DUI cases and making filing decisions on up to 100 DUI cases a day. He also worked in the misdemeanor, felony, narcotics, and gang units. Doug spent the last three years of his career as a prosecutor in the special victims Sex Crimes Unit of the DA’s office, putting child molesters in prison for life.

Doug left the DA’s office in 2004 and began work in private practice. He manages Ridley Defense, APC, working with people who find themselves in the criminal justice system. Doug defends people who get arrested for DUIs, protects juveniles who get brought into court, and litigates serious felony matters. He is also an adjunct professor at Pepperdine Law School, teaching Criminal Trial Preparation.

Doug appears as a featured commentator on ABC7 News and speaks publicly about DUI Laws to bar associations and community groups. He speaks to high schools about "The Law When You Turn 18", warning high school seniors about the dangers of their new status as adults. Doug is also a trainer for Eloqui, a communications and public speaking workshop.

In the local community, Doug is a past president of the Moorpark Morning Rotary Club, voted Hometown Hero by the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce, and the President of the Moorpark chapter of ProVisors, a professional networking organization. He satisfies his charitable desires as an active member of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming group that visits children's hospitals and charities. Doug is happily married to his wife Rori, with three amazing children.
