We just returned from trainings in New York and New Jersey. We enjoyed the look of relief on our clients’ faces when we said our goal was to make them better versions of themselves, not someone’s idea of a “perfect speaker.”
The experience made us reflect on the TV show Genius and specifically, the ten-part series on Albert Einstein. Einstein recognized his scientific capabilities early, and doggedly followed his path. His arrogance didn’t endear him to professors or family, but nothing could sway him from his mission to understand the universe. Theoretical physics was the key.
Find and follow your path. Own your material instead of merely narrating it. Don’t worry about how many “likes” you receive, or that you fit neatly into a prescribed corporate culture. Cultures are always reshaped by visionaries-- those with a passion to know, who question, and ultimately change the world.
